- Finding meaning and significance in meditation and creativity
There will be a ritual and imaginative context to the retreat embodied in the symbolism of the Stupa. We will explore how each of the primary elements symbolises and embodies a dynamic path from limited consciousness to the free-flowing and expansive nature of a creative body and mind. Each element will be explored in a experiential and personal way through a rich combination of approaches including meditation, creative exploration and ritual.
Because the skills and principles of this retreat are relevant to everyone it is open to everybody from those who have learnt the two meditation practices onwards.

What recent participants of the ‘Essentials’ events have said
Thank-you for such illuminating teaching. The clarity of purpose and sense of liberated latent potential that have come from your classes are a real gift.
………
You create a very warm creative atmosphere where people feel free to speak about their meditative experience. You also open up and challenge what it means to meditate.
………
The approach was much more practical and down to earth than I had expected – What was great was I was able to use the tools immediately, but also to take away something to seed further development. I enjoyed that you seemed to enjoy teaching, it was very warm and encouraging.
……..
Really enjoyable, thought provoking course. So much food for thought. I like the way it was mixed with teaching meditation and group work, working smaller groups. Weekly journal great to encourage reflection and give an element of structure around the learning without restricting the playfulness.
……..
I think that what I realised was the gentleness combined with some really penetrating insights that will stay with me. I like the sense of relaxation.
………
I really enjoyed the style of teaching, particularly combining journal work, group exercises and individual meditation. It gave me an insight to the different techniques and helped me to see that there are different ways to meditate and not just one formula to meditation.
………
Four evenings tuition
A lifetimes work
and freedom and willingness to do it. Inspiring.
……
The clarity of thought behind the teaching and Vajradaka’s thoughtfully chosen language. Sometimes a single word had a huge resonance.
